From Worthless to Worthy
He has become more than enough for me.
Before I received Jesus, I felt disregarded and worthless.
I remember going to school and having kids tell me that their parents said we were not allowed to be friends because of who my parents were. My parents were drug addicts and were caught up in all kinds of illegal activities. When I was seven I was removed from theit care. By age nine, their rights were terminated. I felt utterly rejected.
But through the love shown me by some people in the church, I came to see that even though I didn't feel that my parents loved me, Jesus did. I then learned that he loved me enough to lay his life down for me. In light of his great love for me, I gave my life to him. I thanked him for dying for me for the forgiveness of my sins. I asked him to enter into my life. I can honestly say that he hasn't left me to this day.
Now, because of Jesus, I know that I am loved and accepted, not on the basis of who my biological parents were, but because of who my father in heaven is.
Now, though my biological parents are no longer a part of my life, I am not angry or bitter. Rather, I am able to feel compassion for them. Instead of wishing them harm, I now pray for their good. I have come to see myself as a child of God, and I pray that they will be one day too.
Because of Jesus, I no longer feel as though I don't belong anywhere. I no longer feel as though I am rejected. I know I am loved by him. And because I am loved and accepted by him I know that this life is not the end for me. He has saved me and he says he is preparing a place for me. I do not know what this life will bring, but I do know that he walks with me now and I get to live with him in the next. I have found that he is more than enough for me. I pray that you'll let him be more than enough for you too.
