From Sinner to Saint
Thank God for Jesus!
I was a womanizer, a soliciter of prostitutes, and a avid attendee of strip clubs.
I recall the time that I realized how empty my life was. It was a Friday and I had drunk my liquor, smoked my Marijuana, and had sex all before the evening. I did everything that I thought was my joy and considerd a good time by the world's standards. I was as high as I could get, as drunk as I could get, and satisfied sexually; I felt so empty inside and I wondered is pleasure all life has to offer. I didn't know it then but God was trying to get my attention.
In my early twenties, I began working a new job. I was intrigued to find there were christians in my age group working there. I would hear them talking about God and serving him, something I secretly yearned for but did not want to let go of my lust to do, it defined me at this point. One day, an incident occurred that humbled me. From that point, I started bringing my bible to work. Not knowing where to start, I approached the bible like reading a book which left me frustrated. These young Christians took notice and began to encourage me to read books like Ephesians and Corinthians. When I read those books, I was convicted of my sin and I felt ashamed and repentant. God became real to me at the moment and left the pages of the Bible and entered into my heart, he revealed himself to me that day.
I was born anew, overcome with God's love, and a zeal to learn as much about him as I could.
Upon learning the will of God for my life and the human condition, I wanted to share the gospel with as many people as I could. I wanted them to have the joy I have and to receive the gift of God which is eternal life through his son Jesus Christ. Moreover, upon leaning God's will, I soon noticed how many people called themselves christians but did not live for God. I also sought to reach them that they may put their trust in the Lord.
I have forsaken my will for the will of God. I am not perfect, but I have made the choice to deny myself and follow him. I could not do these things unless I put my trust in him. This is how I know my salvation is secure because he does not leave me where I am, he pushes me everyday to be better. I feel his grace and his love. He introduced himslef to me and I acknowledged him as Lord of all.
