From Selfishness to Freedom

Before I received eternal life my life was full of selfishness.

Every decision I made was about how I could benefit. "Me first" was my life's theme. I concerned myself with what other thought about me, trying to be a people pleaser because I wanted the recognition that approval brings.

Then my bible study teacher shared with me how I could have a personal relationship with Jesus and be assured of Heaven.

Now that I have eternal life I am genuinely able to put others before myself.

A couple of years ago I traveled to Uganda to serve orphans, school children, and their mums. To do this I had to step outside of my comfort zone. I had to humble myself. I had to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Without knowing and surrendering my life to Christ such a trip would have never taken place.

Living a selfish life was my way of trying to preserve my life and protect it. Living a surrendered life has enabled me to live life to the full with an assurance of eternal life.
