From Near Death to Eternal Life
Addiction and a life of crime, overcome and forgiven by God and His great and powerful love.
Before I turned my life over to God, I was full of anger, regret, and emptiness.
Before I came to Christ I spent a long time as a criminal, an addict, an adulterer, and a thief. I rebelled against God in every way and denied Him constantly. I just knew I couldn't overcome my sins. I remember sitting in my car crying out to God "Please help me, I don't want to die, but why do I feel like this?" I just knew I was going to end my own life, but God answered my pleas.
I just so happened to wander into a park that was holding an outside service. I heard them speak of God and His love and I knew I wanted that. Then I was told how God is forgiving and loves me no matter my sins, as long as I repented and gave myself to Him. I was overcome with so much peace, I could feel the weight being lifted off of me.
Now that I live my life for God, I no longer have those thoughts of suicide. I no longer see my past trauma as an anchor, but a tool I can use to reach out to others and introduce them to God so that they too will feel the same way I do now.
I was able to walk in to church and no I belonged there. I was able to dismiss any judgement from others and just do the things that are asked of me by God, like give my personal testimony knowing others would possibly see me as a bad person, but I knew someone out there needed to hear it.
Jesus died on that cross and rose again. He did that so that I may be forgiven and receive eternal life. What a powerful love that is, to give up your life to save a sinner.
Your testimony matters too
