From Low Self-Esteem to Significance in GOD
He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; He seats them with princes, with the princes of his people. (Psalm 113:7-8)
Before I received the gift of eternal life I used to have very low self-esteem.
I remember as a young boy, I had a very low opinion of myself and one of the things I hated about me was the fact that I was black. One day, I told some of my friends that the reason I was black was because I had smeared myself with HairGlo, a beauty product thought to darken ladies' hair. Of course, this was a lie!
Then I received the gift of eternal life.
After receiving the gift of eternal life, I started viewing myself as GOD sees me.
One day in school, while I was still quite short, one of the big boys looked down on me and said, "Godwin, you will never grow taller than that!" That statement would have devastated me initially. Instead, I did not reply to him but in my heart, I knew I would grow taller and indeed, I thank GOD that I have grown taller since then.
And I am so glad to know I have eternal life and that I will go to heaven when I die.
