From Lesbian to a Child of God
From Lesbian to follower of Christ, just a brief overview of the power of Jesus.
My life before Christ consisted of literally surviving day to day. I had no plan for tomorrow, no worries about yesterday- just strictly living in the present.
I was living with sexual confusion since elementary school due to some on going, sexual trauma. Because of this, I was always drawn to women (I, myself being female). I became a young alcoholic- around the age of 10 till senior year of high school. I used to skip meals, never sleep and drink alcohol just to feel some escape from my reality. Before school I remember emptying out water bottles and filling them with Vodka for the day because I could not bear my emotions and suicidal ideations of my sober state of mind. At the age of 18, I began dating a female and decided to come out to my family. Being Hispanic, I was not accepted and kicked out of my home. I lived with my partner outside of home for 5, almost 6 years. I always felt an emptiness inside and when my partner no longer filed that void, I was unfaithful to her. We separated for some time but eventually ended up back together. There was never any trust in our relationship and therefore ended up being more toxic than anything. Her grandmother, is a Christian. She calls me in to her room one day and begins to talk to me about God. She hands me a bible, I begin reading it here and there. One morning, after dreaming of my partner being unfaithful (she tried to get even) I wake up and say "I cant be with you if I don't trust you, plus something is telling me to get closer to God so I don't think we can work out".
I then tell her grandmother about my experience and she begins to pray for me. I began reading the bible more often, praying. Not shortly after I say " I HAVE TO GET BAPTIZED ASAP, I don't know why I have this sudden urge but I need to get closer to God" She was very happy to hear the news and I begin to cry, I could not stop myself from crying. I felt 30 pounds lifted off of my chest this unexplainable peace and warmth inside of me that just felt right.
I began going to church and would become full of the Holy Spirit of God while worshiping the LORD. My transformation was at the blink of an eye.
I was no longer attracted to women, I no longer wanted to drink/smoke, hear music of the world, go clubbing, fornicate or any worldly pleasures. The joy of worshipping and feeling the presence of the LORD is incomparable.
" For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life"- John 3:16. Jesus is love, we are still alive today because he is giving us a chance to obtain everlasting life by his side, in his glory. We must repent- or turn away from sin- and profess that Jesus is LORD and the son of God. "Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation come from him"- Psalm 62:1 God bless you all.
