From Faulty Rocks to Firm Foundation
I had a rocky foundation to my life in the past and now I have the strongest foundation anyone can have.
I was always stressed out, worrisome for the future, and a slave to addiction.
My identity was found in what other people thought of me specifically in baseball. After a game when I played well, I was high and mighty and on top of the world. But when I would screw up and play poorly, which happened a lot more than when I played well, I was depressed, stressed out, disappointed with myself, thought I would never be good enough.
My baseball career eventually went away and with it so did my identity. I grew up going to church and was even baptized at a young age. But I never knew how desperately I needed a savior until I felt like I need saving. I joined a Christian fraternity when I went off to college and I saw what a man's life looks like when he is following Jesus. And I wanted it.
Now that I have Jesus I no longer worry about what others think of me or what the future holds.
Even if you take away my grades, my friends, my family, or anything else that is a part of me, I still know that no matter how bad it gets, Jesus will always be enough.
This life is the good life! I know that if I go out and drive right now, get in a wreck, and lose my life, then I get to be with my King and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Your testimony matters too
