I was constantly anxious about my family’s future, which made it difficult for me to go out in public or attend fun events. I was stressed out about everything, and drinking alcohol was my solution to make me calm, comfortable and stress free for the moment. My life was overshadowed by relentless worries and anxiety about my family’s future, which gripped me so tightly that I could barely step out in public or enjoy events that were meant to be fun. The constant stress and burnout from trying to hold everything together left me feeling overwhelmed and trapped. I carried a heavy burden of guilt and shame, convinced that I wasn’t doing enough or measuring up, which only deepened my low self-esteem. No matter how busy I kept myself, I couldn’t shake the discontent that gnawed at me, leaving me restless and unfulfilled. Fears about failing my loved ones consumed my thoughts, spiraling into moments of despair and depression that made it hard to see any light at the end of the tunnel. In my struggle to cope, I turned to drinking alcohol as a way to escape. It became an addiction, a habit I leaned into because it temporarily dulled the anxiety, silenced the guilt, and made me feel calm, comfortable, and stress-free. But those moments were fleeting, and the cycle of shame and despair only grew stronger.
God revealed himself to me in forgiveness to myself. He comforted me with his love. Began to lift the vail to what life could be with him as the center
Receiving eternal life filled me with peace and hope, replacing my anxiety and despair with confidence in a secure future for me and my family.
After a grueling week of long work hours, I was completely drained—physically sick and mentally exhausted. I collapsed into bed that Friday and didn’t leave for the entire weekend, sleeping for three days straight, overwhelmed by fatigue and despair. In those dark moments, as I lay in agony, I felt God’s presence in a way I’d never experienced before. It was as if His comforting touch wrapped around me, easing my pain and filling me with an unexplainable peace. That weekend marked a turning point—the beginning of my sobriety and my rebirth in Jesus Christ. The hope and assurance of eternal life replaced my anxiety and despair, giving me the strength to rise, renewed, with confidence in a secure future for me and my family.
Through my rebirth in Jesus Christ, I am certain of my eternal life and know with unwavering confidence that I will be with Him in heaven when I die, as promised in 1 John 5:13: “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” Each day, I pick up my cross, dive into the Word of God, lead my family toward Christ, and seek clarity on how I can serve Him. I pray it’s not His will, but even if everything I have is taken away, I know that with God’s love, everything will be alright, for His love is my eternal anchor and my greatest assurance.
