From Darkness to Light

My life was really dark in the past and I had no peace. I had no peace in myself. I had problems with my family, I didn´t trust my friends. I even had problems with the law.

It was so bad that one day, I was sitting there and I asked myself, "What´s the purpose of life?" I answered myself, "There is none. We´re born, we live, and we die." And the thought came to me, "So why don´t you just kill yourself." And boy I freaked out! I got up and started doing whatever else I could. I was scared to think about death.

Life was a mess, but one day I heard the message about what Jesus stood for. It took me a while to understand, but once I did, I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and my life changed dramatically.

It was like my dark life was filled with light! I gained peace within, my relationships with my family improved, my relationships with my friends changed, and I wasn´t breaking the law so I had no reason to fear the police.

I have such peace now that one night while I was out a young man threatened me with a gun. I calmly looked at him and said, "Man, you gotta do what you gotta do, but I know that if I die tonight I´m going to heaven, what about you?"

That is a great part of accepting Jesus, knowing for sure I will go to heaven when I die.
