Freedom from self-sufficiency

Before I came to know and trust in Jesus as Savior and Lord I was continually plagued by worries and insecurities.

I was obsessed with finding a woman to marry, of getting a job, of being able to do everything on my own and be a success in the eyes of secular society.

Then a friend shared with me how to have eternal life through Christ.

After making and professing my decision to trust in Jesus I had less anxiety and worried much less about the future and what I could accomplish, but rather trusted in God to provide for my needs, as He promises to do.

At one point a few years later I was approaching some serious financial needs, and then I found out I been nominated for a scholarship I had never even heard of. I immediately felt complete peace about my financial situation, trusting that God would provide, maybe in ways I couldn't even imagine.

Even more reassuring is not just the promise that God will continue to provide for me earthly needs, freeing me from worries, but that I have eternal security, knowing that when I die I will spend eternity in the presence of Mighty God in Heaven, not because of anything I did but because of my trust in what Jesus did.
