Forgiven and Set Free

When I wasn't working, too much of my time was spent hanging out with people drinking too much, occasionally using drugs, and looking for love that wasn't real; my life had no good purpose.

Because I worked in the restaurant business, I worked late and the obvious thing to do was to go out with others to a local bar and close the place up.

After years of meaningless existence and self-centered living, I asked God to forgive me for ignoring Him and accepted the fact that Jesus died for me on the cross and thanked Him.

Such a weight was lifted from years of regretful living. I felt such peace, forgiveness, joy and a love for others and purpose for living that I had not ever experienced before.

Because I was experiencing the pure love that only God can give, I no longer had the desire to go out to parties or bars in hopes of meeting someone; I was perfectly content with the real thing!

In fact, I have such a peace inside knowing that I now have eternal life and that God is always with me even when life gets hard.
