Emily's testimony.
I desperately wanted to be in control of my life. I quickly fell into the world and made mistakes that broke my heart. I realized I didn't want to be in control anymore and gave control to The Lord. I have joy, hope, and peace knowing Jesus died on the cross for my sins so I can be in community with God forever.
Before I received eternal life I was insecure and attention-seeking.
I remember being at a party with friends, even though I'm introverted and didn't even like parties, and making a huge mistake.
At a party one night, I made a mistake that completely broke me. I was depressed. I was depressed about my mistake but mostly just sad from chasing the world. I had a moment in bed crying one night that I can only describe as a "God Moment." I felt a small whisper in my spirit that if I am in control of my life, this is what it is always going to be like. I wanted change.
Now that I have eternal life, I no longer seek the attention of the world. I no longer try to meet cultural expectations. Giving God control of my life has been the best.
I get asked all the time by non-Christian friends to go out and get drunk or to go on weekend trips where I know the intentions of the trip aren't in my best interest. It's way easier to say no to those now knowing my identity is in Christ.
I have peace in Christ knowing He died on the cross for my sins so that I can be in community with God for eternity.
