Edy's Personal Story
The night I came home from the hospital after giving birth to my premature baby of only 26 weeks and weighing only 1lb 11oz to a dirty home with no television, and husband coming off a drug binge of 2 days, helped to lower my self esteem and self worth even more. After a 3 week battle my son passed and my life was just a blur of fights and battles to keep my husband at work during the day and at home at night.
Before I came to have eternal life, I found solace in my promiscuity and cheap thrills that you find so readily available in these times.
I can recall "falling" for a man that was no good for me nor the type of man my family wanted for me. Even knowing this I proceeded to marry him to soon after divorce at a very young age and now with a daughter I was to raise on my own.
Once I came to the realization of how different my life could be "falling" for the one who fell for me first, I had to give my life to him and offer my daughter's life to him so she may come to know the Lord early enough to not make the same mistakes I've made.
Now with everlasting and eternal life, I know my life is in the hands that can love me regardless of who or what I was.
Falling in love with a man who lived with vices and addictions, when I really didn't understand the severity of the addiction, made me come face to face with the reality of the erroneous decision I had made. Not being able to keep any money, electronics or any item good enough to sell for his drugs, helped to understand what my life would be raising children in this home. The night I came home from the hospital after giving birth to my premature baby of only 26 weeks and weighing only 1lb 11oz to a dirty home with no television,(because my husband just sold it), and a husband coming off of a drug binge of 2 days helped to lower my self esteem and self worth even more. After a 3 week battle, my son passed and my life was just a blur of fights and battles to keep my husband at work during the day and at home at night. After just 3 month,s to be pregnant again and only 18 years old was even more worrisome than the loss of my first born. Having this new child in my womb brought a memory to me of my childhood, at 12 years of age when I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior. I had turned my back on him just 2 years later and fell into a spiral of Alcohol, Dancing and Sex. This would not be the life of my new child. My child would live and would know the Lord. I reconciled with my God and asked him to forgive me and accept me once again as his child. Now that I truly know my God, I would never turn my back on him again. 22 years later, I am still on a path of getting to know Jesus better as I walk with him, and he with me.
My life is so fulfilled right now that if he were to come for me today, I would be ready to go with my Lord and Savior.
