Early decision, Final confidence

I had accepted Christ early in life. But when I faced the possibility of death in a car crash I could face the possibility of death calmly because I was confident I would be in heaven with God if I died.

I was young when I realized with gratitude that Christ died for my sin. I didn't have any idea how I could go to be with God in Heaven when I died. But when I heard about what Jesus did for me I surrendered my life to Him.

Later I learned how there was no way I could earn a place in heaven, but I knew I would be with God because of the decision I had made earlier. When I faced the possibility of death, I could be confident I would be with Him should anything were to happen.
