Confidence in Christ to face the future

I've confidence in life because I know my future is secured in God, who has given eternal life freely to those who believe in His Son, Jesus Christ.

I was born into a Christian family and life was well where I have loving parents and 2 brothers that look after me very well. However, when I was about 8 years old, my uncle passed away due to cancer. It was the first death incident in the family that I went through. Being a kid, I did not know what death was and wonder where has my uncle gone to. Fear came into my mind as I thought death was the end and there was really nothing beyond that. But being brought up in a Christian family, I knew the message about eternal life through Jesus. That has given me hope that through Christ, he has prepared a place for us in heaven.

Now that I know my future is in Christ, this has given me the confidence in life. Life is full of ups and downs. Facing the 'ups' situation is easy but when looking at the 'downs' situation, it is not easy at all. But when we look at eternity, the 'downs' situation is so small and insignificant. In fact, the 'downs' situation will shape me to be a better person with God's grace and help.
