Church membership but no relationship
Don't be fooled into thinking that if you're a moral person that you are saved. There's a huge difference because the Bible says there's not anyone that's good. We all sin and we have to realize without Jesus Christ we're bound for hell. With Him, we're bound for Heaven!
I had a church membership but no relationship with Jesus Christ.
I went forward at a Vacation Bible School when I was about 13 because my friends did. Time went on and I was in church and knew Jesus was speaking to my heart. I kept telling myself that I had already done that. The sad thing was I had the ritual part down but I was lost. In 1986 my Pastor preached on the passage of the rich young ruler. That Sunday night I knew I was lost and Jesus was calling. Praise God for His love, mercy, and grace. He saved me, the rituals were replaced with a relationship! I pray for others because we live in the Bible belt. I'm afraid there are so many like the lost person I was.
My relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important thing in my life. Because of His love He keeps working in my life!
I know that whatever happens in life, His love and grace will carry me through.
Even in the most difficult trials, I've never doubted His love and provision. His promises are true and He's always faithful.
Romans 8:38-39 tells me that nothing can separate me from His love. I didn't do anything to deserve it and I can't do anything to keep Him from loving me. The book of John says He's preparing a place for me where I'll be with Him forever.
