Celebrating Life
God does answer our prayers. He gives us hope when we feel as if there is none.
Before I received eternal life my life was full of fear.I remember accepting Christ at the age of 17. It was just before my daughter was born and it was mid summer/early fall. I remember channel surfing and this station came on...I do not remember what was said, but I do remember that it had a major impact and I would continually finding myself turning back to that station again and again, until finally the words spoken began to stir something within me. Eventually, I realized that that Is what had been missing and the reason that my life did not feel complete. Things started to make sense and there was a leap of hope, an answer to that question asked so long ago: why am I here? You see, God did answer my prayer, He did not forget, although I had. It was a life changing moment: I became hungry, but it was not a physical hunger, it was a spiritual hunger. I started to seek out churches and did not stop until I was fed. I started reading the Bible, and anything that would help me to better understand what was happening within. It was a "new" beginning.
In the summer of 2009...my heart stopped three times, in a coma for two weeks. God has given me a second chance at life. Not only spiritually, but physically as well.
I remember that when I went back to school ( in my 40's to get a degree)...there was fear. God had given me a scripture: Exodus 4:12: God is faithful and He has been true to His word. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Fear no longer has the power it once had over my life. As a result of receiving eternal life I no longer feel as if there is no hope.
One night after drinking all day I decided to get behind the wheel to drive with my daughter. I thank God for His grace and mercy in saving us from going over an embankment.
God has shown me through His word that He does what He says. He has proven to me over and over again through His word that He can be depended and because of that I know that I have eternal life through His Son.
