Callie's Testimony
I went from being a slave to sin to being a child of God. He rescued me from my sin and gave me eternal life.
I'm grateful for eternal life because I'm no longer a slave to sin, and I get to spend eternity with the One who saved me from my sin.
When I was saved, I was struggling with a habitual secret sin. I wish I could say that immediately changed when I accepted Jesus into my heart, but it didn't. In fact, it persisted for another decade. While I went through phases of not struggling, some lasting up to a year, I kept going back to it. However, it never escalated to anything that involved other people, which is something I credit God with. I can now proudly say that God has freed me from this sin, and I rarely feel the temptation anymore. While I often wish I hadn't struggled with that sin for so long, it taught me to rely on God and seek Him as relentlessly as temptation was pursuing me. On the other side of that sin, I see that there is freedom and forgiveness. I'm no longer a slave to sin nor am I afraid of it. Now, no matter what temptations I face, I know that there is a way out, and I am not stuck in sin forever. God's grace is incredible and transformative, and I am so glad that He saved me.
Because of His grace, love, and forgiveness, I have the assurance of eternal life with God, where sin and pain will be replaced with joy and praise.
