Because He lives, I do too.
Through every step of life, God is able and willing to bring you out.
Before I received Christ in my life, it was full of guilt, shame, disappointment, loneliness, hatred, addictions, depression, and more more.
No one ever thought that I would ever make it. I was counted out a long time ago. For many years I walked around in a slumber and my face displayed a fake smile that some called beautiful. If they only knew the hell burning on the inside of me. Molested from the age of 3-7, raped several times throughout my life (once by gun point and left for dead) became a teenage mother, used drugs and alcohol as an escape, and spending over a decade in a very violent marriage pulled me through a life of homelessness, depression, and a suicidal mind set.
Then I began to give for something different. I didn't want to love like that anymore. Feeling like I had met my worse, I searched for something better; it was Christ.
Today, I proudly say that I'm saved and I'm free of all the things that helps me bound. I've been able to use the concept of forgiveness to gain my freedom and restore hope, love, and peace into my life. I'm the author of Broken and Rebuilt for the Kingdom, my testimony of overcoming obstacles and being set free from the remnants that these horrific events left behind. To help others that have experienced domestic violence and sexual assault, I've developed and started the first Non- collegiate sorority for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault called Zeta Sigma Phi Sorority Inc. Within this sorority, I pray that sisterhood is built amongst women that share the same victories and in that we can help those that are in need of our support. God has blessed me, kept me, saved and covered me and I want to let others know that He is the same God today and for every more.
I've learned that forgiveness isn't for others. It's for me. I realized this when I looked up and a few of my offenders had moved on to love their life and could careless about what they had done to me. So what what was holding me down?
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow. I know without a doubt that it is surely by the grace of God that I'm alive and because I love my life as a servant striving to please Him, I know I'm on the road to eternal life..
Your testimony matters too
