Arthur's Story of affirmation
God is watching over me and I know that he'll see things that I can't see, and that is why my faith in him is unwavering.
God's always with me, I've always known that at a young age for I was spared of bad influences while growing up in the section of my neighborhood known as the campground. Of course some things were already set in place while I was younger after I lost an older brother of whom I don't remember as a baby. My mother took a closer and tighter rein on my upbringing after that. As time went on she made sure I attended every church function and gathering there ever was. If anything she helped instill in me God's teachings. As I got older and away from my mother's protective arms I knew I could always put my trust in God when faced with uncertain trials. I owe my existence to him.
While serving in the Army National Guard (during the time of 911) my unit 226th ASG was activated for duty in Kuwait. After months of training at Ft. Benning GA, we were prepared for the unknown once we landed there. My unit being a logistics unit was slated to go to the front line, however the host unit already there was present at Camp Arifjan for a year and five months and they themselves were a logistics unit. once they found out who we were they worked behind the scenes for my unit to replace them. I should explain at this point what a "Logistics unit is; We see about the needs of the soldier, anything from lighting units to transportation to lodging and/or food and ammunition so their efforts were fruitful and we were able to do just that. This enabled my unit to stay in the "safe" zone for the rest of our stay in Iraq. We were spared the trials of fighting in a war and losing comrades. While there we were able to connect with other soldiers also seeking and finding Christ. We maintained and reinforced our Christian values while out there and it brought us home.
I know the Lord is blessing me and those that I love constantly and I will always praise him for I know my reward in the end is eternal life and I will see him on that day.
