Ana’s Journey to the Great I Am
I was lost and God went looking for me. He wooed me ever so gently and carried me to the cross of His precious Son Jesus that if I believed in my heart, Jesus died and rose again, for me; I would be saved. It was simple and painless. No striving, no 15 Hail Mary prayers to recite. Just believe and receive Jesus.
Before I received Christ, I was busy at work, married, living without any sense of God at work in me or around me or anywhere in life. My Father was agnostic, my mom a Catholic but who never brought up God to me.
A coworker took me to a Bible study at work during our lunch hour where for the first time I heard the gospel from another coworker. That initial Bible study started me questioning all sorts of things like, what is faith? How can one believe in a God you cannot see, hear, touch.
Then my coworker invited me to church that happened to be 2 miles from where I lived. I went and kept returning. The pastor preached messages I could understand and enjoyed every minute of the service. Seven weeks into church, I accepted Jesus. My journey with God has been amazing. To this day, I keep growing and building up faith, assurance, security in what Christ has done for me.
Now that I have eternal life, I can rest assured of my future.
I grappled with rejection, demonic oppression, and fear. I leaned into prayer, into breaking off yokes of bondage and towards wholeness of heart.
Through Christ, the cross, His blood, I am a new creation. I’m healthy and whole on the inside. God has removed my shame, guilt, rejected and worthless status. I say with assurance, I belong to the family of God, Abba is my Father, I am never left alone. He is my helper, defender, strong tower, my Rock.
