An Unplanned Pregnancy to the Light of God
At 16 years old I learned I was pregnant and felt as if my world was coming to an end. I was able to find God and He's pushed me to live a life of happiness and positivity.
I worried only about how others would judge me, never God.
I remember I was sixteen when I found God. A week after I learned I was pregnant, I discovered how His love and light guides us in all things, and pushes us to do right. I lived in the bustling city of San Francisco with my mother and father. My older sister was incredibly smart and had just gone off to a fairly well-known college, whereas I was struggling to keep my grades up. It was during this time that I learned I was expecting. Of course I knew that unplanned pregnancies were a common occurrence, but in my urban, private-school community they were stigmatic, especially unplanned teen pregnancies. The hours I spent crying in my bedroom were innumerable. I was too ashamed to confide in anyone. How could I have let something like this happen to me?! I was an embarrassment! I feared that my parents would be disappointed, especially in comparison to my sister who was excelling at her new school. I knew what I needed to do. I couldn't just let this mistake, this tiny accident control my life. I had a future, a bright and brilliant future. With God's help I was able to see this. I was able to understand that His plan for me was not to be subjected to motherhood at such a young age. My pregnancy was a test, a test of my love for Him. So with a clean conscience, knowing that God had my back in everything I did, I had my pregnancy terminated. From that day forth I never let anyone other than Him judge me. Several people, friends even family, objected my decision, but knowing that God had seen fit for me to follow that path, I persevered, and I am ever so happy that I did. Without the added pressure of caring for a child I was able to raise my grades, attend the college of my choice, and ultimately live the dream life and path God paved for me. I am ever so grateful, and thank Him always for giving me the courage to recognize that my health, my happiness, was above the judgement of others.
It was then that I learned God never makes mistakes, each difficulty in life is a test that delivers one to their ultimate destiny.
Now that I have eternal life I never fear challenges, but face them with an open heart and an open mind.
After my abortion I realized the true meaning of life's sanctity, that the lives currently on this earth are more precious that anything. That God will give you the tools to make your lif ethe best it can be whether that is with a child or without.
I know that Jesus will grant me eternal life, for he is our savior.
