An addict set free
"My chains are gone, I've been set free!
I lived the party life. I ran the streets. I was an addict/alcoholic. I turned to crime. I hurt many people who loved me.
One night I drove all over south east Dallas smoking crack, stealing high end luxury cars, and taking them to a chop shop. I probably smoked over $500 worth of crack and stole 15+ cars that night.
My wake up call came in the form of a 15 year prison sentence for aggravated robbery. I had made a complete mess of my life and had hit rock bottom. I repented of my sins and received the Lord Jesus in an 8 x 5 jail cell. God isn't hindered by physical limitations. He truly does meet us where we are when we call on his name out of a sincere heart.
I no longer desire drugs.
The day I was released from prison, I visited my Dad's house. In his desire to celebrate my parole, he offered me weed, alcohol, and some lady friends he invited over to meet me. I had ZERO desire to stay there. I immediately called someone to come get me and I left. I could have stayed and had a "great time", but I'd been changed. I didn't want those things anymore. I just wanted Jesus.
Not only have I experienced deliverance in this life, I'm also confident that I'll live forever with Jesus in the next life. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that if I died today, I would be with Him in heaven.
