Amy's Personal Testimony
Christ, the answer to all my hopes, dreams, and fears.
Before I met Christ, I was anxious at times and I sometimes felt insecure. Sometimes I was even fearful.
I used to worry about my life after death, where I would spend eternity. Sometimes I felt unloved and tried to compensate in my life by overachieving at things at school and in my extracurricular life. My life became a bit worldly. Always trying to achieve and earn others love and respect.
One day I felt lost. Just very lost. I had heard sermons, lectures, christian talks, christian school and friends (so we said), even sang in a christian gospel group, but had not truly trusted in Christ for my eternal life. I kept hearing and just not ever really trusting and believing in God for my salvation. My life drifted while at college and became more like the world. Then, God got my attention by allowing me to dream three different times over the course of a year about dying and being left behind. These were very dramatic to me, but I just kept brushing them off. God kept convicting me of my life and would not leave me alone. Praise God! Then, one night, at home after graduation from college, I had the third dream that Christ came for all who were His and I had been left behind. I got up and knelt by my bed and asked Him to forgive me my sins and come into my heart and life as my Saviour.
Jesus has given me hope, redemption, love, and mercy. He guides me and hears me when I pray. He watches over me and cares for me as no other ever could or can. He forgives me when I stumble and fall and reaches down to pick me up with love and encouragement. He comforts me when I am afraid. He is patient and kind. He has and is allowing me to participate in His ministry to others.
Knowing that Christ is my Saviour and that if anything happened to me that I would spend eternity in heaven with Him is the most important and special thing in my life. Where as I used to doubt that at one time in my life, I now have assurance and a relationship with Christ that is real and growing.
Jesus Christ is my personal hope for my salvation. There is no other.
