Amy Rohl's Testimony
This story is about me, a 15-year-old girl who is like a little fish(I competitively swim). But I decided to share my testimony, especially this past year because God has moved so much through my life.
Before I met Christ I was just a churchgoer, my family is believers but as life went on I thought I knew him when I hit middle school everything changed.
During my first year of middle school, I struggled a lot with everything imaginable; grades, teachers, stress/anxiety, and a bit of depression, and my swim season that year started to crumble. And that time as well me and my parents were working to find a diagnosis for possible learning disorders which helped but was quickly shut down due to Covid.
Covid happened and as we all know everything was shut down. But for me, that was God's time to move; he started by allowing me to slowly grow closer to him through this isolation from people, he allowed me to be diagnosed with a learning disorder that now allows me to get the help I need to be a better student-athlete.
So finally with me now knowing Christ fully and me having a relationship with him that is still growing Many things have happened. I start finally excelling in school, didn't worry about stress or anxiety, and my swimming career started to skyrocket in ways I couldn't even have imagined. Finally, now it's amazing to look back and just see how God has worked in my life in those past few years. especially this past year! I'm 15, a freshman in high school, and my relay this spring qualified for YMCA Nationals. God used that meet in so many ways by giving me an amazing opportunity to speak in front of 1000+ people for a devotional at the meet.
One afternoon my mom and I were talking about ministry and that evening I was presented with the opportunity to do the devotional at the Nationals. It took me about a week to finally see that God was calling me to do this. Here were the four signs I got: 1) Talking about ministry, and how you can be a missionary here, then that evening getting that opportunity. 2) Having thoughts about walking out into deeper waters(I had been praying, asking God to help me walk out into deeper water with him) 3) Praying to ask if is this his calling to me and being ashamed of doubting him. But shortly after went to Youtube and the first video is short on how it's ok to doubt your calling from God. 4) The lady in charge of volunteering for the meet emailed me saying that all the days I was at the meet were full, So I fell on my knees and prayed to ask God if this was his plan for me and if so show me and sure enough I emailed the lady back and she said that Tuesday of that week was suddenly open for me.
I know now that God truly has a plan for me. this amazing gift to swim and to be able to go out and speak my mind and not be afraid will glorify His kingdom throughout my life. And hopefully, my story will glorify and courage others as well, to not be afraid, and to grow in your relationship because, without Jesus, your life will crumble without his foundation.
Your testimony matters too
