All Other Roads Are Broken
I was an arrogant, self-centered person, convinced that all roads ended up in a positive afterlife. Then God saved me from the broken road and turned me into a humble, loving man.
Back when I was in college, I was living a life pursuing cheep thrills, bad habits, and I lived a life that was downright self-centered. I was having a lot of fun, but every bit of fun was unfulfilled. I considered myself a spiritual person and had no problems doing things because I shared a belief that all roads sort of led to the same place. I believed this with conviction. I was writing off all of the bad that I was doing with this concept.
I was so convinced of me being right that at the end of my senior year I even set out to write a thesis that identified the idea of love being the same in Christianity as it was in Buddhism. I even found myself in conversations arguing, reasoning, and convincing others of why Christianity was not "The Way."
Then in the midst of writing my Thesis, God reached out to me In a real way, I had a real experience with God and I felt him telling me to turn to him. I discovered how wrong I was. It took me a little to put my full faith in Him, but when I did, I felt a complete change in my heart.
Once I did, I started to become kind and generous, My bad habits and desire for self satisfaction started to change and my desires started to become Godly desires. Most of all, my arrogance started to turn into humility.
Even my family commented on how much more enjoyable I was to be around. The thesis that I was writing showing how love was the same turned into an apologetic or thesis for the unique Love found in Jesus.
Through all of this, especially the fact that I truly know and have experienced the fullness of God in my life, I look forward to an eternity with him in heaven.
