AJ's Personal Testimony
I have given up my old life for a new to live in the grace of God and his will. I was selfish and cared about earthly prestige, money, and success which led to struggles in family and relationships. Now, I choose to surrender my life to God and to glorify his name by serving him in any and every way I can.
Before I received eternal life I was living a self-centered selfish life where I cared about prestige, money, and success and I focused a lot of my energy and attention on what my desires, my passions, and my ambitions were to a point where I ignored my .
God has blessed me with the honorable positions of husband and father, but I did not take on the role and lead my family as God had intended for me. My selfish way of living eventually led to major strains and hurt in the most important relationships in my life and steered me away from being a godly man. In the last year, I had experienced a mixture of emotions and struggles: regret, sorrow, painful emotional hurts, anger, frustration, abandonment to list a few.
Then I finally fell flat on my back forced to finally start looking in the right direction. From that point on, I made a vow to God to follow him wholeheartedly in all my ways, all my thoughts, and all my actions. As I finally surrendered to God, God revealed to me his will through His word, prayer, and other people. Along my journey I finally learned and understood what is required to go to Heaven, and what that will mean for the rest of my life on earth.
Now that I have truly accepted Jesus as my lord and savior, I have never felt more alive and free in my life.
After going through a great deal of pain and hurt and as I continue to experience difficult times, I feel and see God working in my life to grow closer to me and see me through the difficult seasons. I can feel Him continuing to grow in me and I have a strong desire to become more Christ-like everyday. It has come to a point where I believe I have a true and real understanding of what James 1:2-4 is expressing.
I have no doubt in my mind that I am saved and have been given the gift of eternal life when my time comes to leave this world. I have an inexpressible joy and thankfulness for God for saving me. Now, I am able to live confidently and only wishing to carry out God's will and glorify His name.
