Abraham Contreras' Testimony

Before I received eternal life, I was angry with the quality of my life. I didn't understand about half of the things that were going on in life, and it brought more and more hatred into my heart. I developed a frustration that influenced my life to become a big ol' headache.

I remember always running to the punching bag as my clutch. I took up boxing as a result of my frustrations with life. It became so bad that there would be days that my knuckles would bleed, my hands would hurt, and my bones would ache.

A great friend of mine, Caleb Crawford, showed me Truth. This Truth was a rough road to get along with at first, but over time, God showed Himself to me in remarkable ways. He answered questions whenever I had them, He showed me the way when I sought, and He opened the door when I knocked. Matthew 7:7 teaches this, and God has been the most diligent, directing, and inviting in all of these aspects. I am now joyous to be living within His house, and His grace!

Now, by having a relationship with Jesus Christ, I see life in a brand new way. I carry myself with a new sense of hope, love, and peace. Jesus pulled me out of the rut that I was once in, and I am forever greatful for His saving grace! I now understand that anger and frustrations are a product of my flesh, and that God supplies much more than just the flesh. He is spirit, and I am called to be living within the spirit!

I came across 1 Peter 5:7 early on in my walk with Christ, and I then knew that my confide should not be the punching bag. Any time that I was challenged with something, I ran to God first in prayer. Knowing that He hears me, that He listens to me, shows how much He loves me!

I am absolutely certain that when I die, only a few seconds later, I will be listening to the voice of Jesus. He will comfort me, He will love me, and He will show me around His home!
