A Testimony of Sinner to Saint
Jesus Christ is a transforming God. Through His unending grace and mercy He has taken a greedy, prideful, and selfish sinner and turned that person into a loving, caring, and selfless man. Life's a long and enduring race. I pray that through my continued walk with The Lord I will continue to grow and be more like Him.
Before I received Christ into my heart I was very self centered, now I have a love and compassion for others, particularly for those less fortunate.
I recall how I used people to get just what I wanted on many different levels, and now I want to be of use to others in various ways and for God's glory.
One day, when at wits end, my brother shared with me how I could receive eternal life. Through a simple prayer I asked Jesus to be my Lord and savior.
Now that I have eternal life the world no longer revolves around me.
Just last week I was in a hurry to get home after a long weeks work. As I was pumping gas in a north Asheville station I noticed a couple sitting on a curb with their puppy. Before leaving I went over and spoke to them as I gave their dog a treat. I ended up giving them a ride downtown, in the opposite direction of where I was headed.
I know that a life lived for Jesus is eternal. With all certainty, I know if I were to die right now I would be with my Lord in heaven.
