A Prideful atheist meets Jesus
A committed atheist is challenged by a lecture at Harvard to check out the Bible and ends up receiving eternal life.
My father was a liberal minister who did not believe in miracles including the resurrection of Jesus. My parents believed that no smart, educated person today could believe such things. As I studied science and philosophy I became a vocal atheist organizing my own atheist club in high school. However I was terrified of death as the permanent end of my existence. I tried to escape by using alcohol as often as I could.
As a teenager I discovered a large hernia which I thought was a cancerous tumor but was too scared to tell my parents. I just could not face the end of my existence.
At a Harvard lecture I was stunned by a brilliant visiting professor who warned that those who did not believe in Jesus would simply go to hell. I began to read seriously the Bible and the writings of some Christian intellectuals and I received eternal life
Now I have a life of joy and peace knowing that this world is filled with meaning, value and purpose because God does exist and Jesus has overcome sin and death.
A while ago I almost died while choking on some shrimp at a restaurant. I left my body as I passed out until my wife, who is a nurse, revived me. I kiddingly chastised her for not letting me go to glory because I am truly looking forward to heaven and the New Earth.
How exciting it is to be certain that the Bible is true and to look forward to the place that Jesus has gone to prepare for those who know Him!
Your testimony matters too
