A Peace that Passes Understanding
God will give you peace even through hard times.
I am thankful for eternal life and that in Christ I find my purpose in life. He provides me with comfort and joy and an inner peace that is only available through him. There have been struggles in my life that I don't know if I would have gotten through without knowing He was right by my side guiding me and giving me comfort and peace.
The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:7, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus". I have truly felt a peace that passes all understanding a few times in my life. The time that stands out the most to me is when I was nine months pregnant with our fourth son. I hadn't felt him move for several hours so I called my Dr. She had me go to the hospital to get checked out. I had a feeling that he had passed away and he had. Even though I was grieving our son, Cyrus Graham, God gave me an amazing peace. I know that I received that peace because he was with me every step of the way - from our community praying for us in the waiting room of the hospital while I was in labor to the friends taking care of our boys and comforting them, to other friends picking up my mom from an airport in the middle of the night, to coming home to our house decorated for Christmas (Cyrus was born right after Thanksgiving). There are so many ways that I saw God in this situation. Even as I held my sweet Cyrus after he was delivered, I felt an amazing peace. Because of this time in my life, God has been able to use me to comfort others and has giving me understanding of what others might be feeling.
Part of the peace I experienced is because I believe that I will see Cyrus in heaven because I am confident that I have eternal life since I have chosen to follow God.
