A New Creation

Before receiving eternal life, I was filled with guilt and shame and found myself hopeless and without direction. Part of my hopelessness was the fact that I had no assurance that I would go to heaven when I died.

I remember a time in college when I was consumed with guilt over things I had done. Once when I was driving home for the Thanksgiving holidays, I began to question what would happen if I drove of the road and died.

A few weeks later, after returning to my university, I asked a friend how to receive eternal life. Fortunately, he knew enough to share with me how I could receive eternal life. That night I received eternal life and my life has never been the same.

Since receiving eternal life, my life has been transformed; the shame and guilt I once experienced have been replaced with the assurance that God has forgiven me, and I am a new person.

I remember not long after receiving eternal life, I had the opportunity to share in front of group of students how I had received eternal life and how my life had changed and how my life now had purpose and meaning.

The greatest thing of all is that now I know for certain that when I die, I will spend eternity in heaven.
