A future and a hope
All I had was emptiness before I received eternal life. Then one day I just couldn't take it anymore. I remembered the first time I heard about eternal life through Christ, one I have been resisting for several years. I fell on my knees, crying and said, "God, you win. I can't live without You." Now, I have a sense of purpose in my life. Through Christ, there is a future and a hope for me...not just in this life, but in the one to come.
All I had was emptiness before I received eternal life.
My life was pointless. I went to college but my heart was never in it. I got into vices, partying, cheap thrills that never truly satisfied me. I was unsure of my future. I barely thought about it, and when I did, it scared me.
Then one day I just couldn't take it anymore. I remembered the first time I heard about eternal life through Christ, one I have been resisting for several years. I fell on my knees, crying and said, "God, you win. I can't live without You."
Now, I have a sense of purpose in my life.
Every time I do something, even a simple task, or making big and small decisions, I ask myself first if it's going to please God or not. There is that end goal, and that is to bring Him glory. And whenever I fail at it (which is inevitable), I know that it's not going to make Him love me less, nor will it forfeit His promise of eternal life.
Ever since Christ came into my life, not only did I receive the assurance of salvation (which is the best thing I could ever hope for), but there is that peace in my heart that whenever trials come, God is there to back me up, and that there's nothing I can and ever will do to make me any more or less saved. Through Christ, there is a future and a hope for me...not just in this life, but in the one to come.
