A Fulfilling Life
God delivered me from brokenness to fulfillment and satisfaction.
I am so glad I have a relationship with God he has given me happiness by satisfying my deepest thirst for fulfillment and giving me Ultimate Security and allowing me to enjoy Him. When I graduated college and got my first job. I was richer than I had ever been and had more leisure time, freedom, and opportunity but I felt less fulfilled than ever.
I was living for power, approval, comfort, and control; these were my god’s. I was making other people and other things my ultimate authority; I believed these things would fulfill me.
I asked myself if I lost these things would it make life worth living, and when I did not get these things, I felt life was not worth living. I was dying a million deaths before I actually died because I was putting my trust in other things that I clang to and relied upon for their Ultimate security and contentment. I thought my life would be complete “if only” I had these things or someone. I was living in a cycle of “if only” I was hoping that “if only” would bring me fulfillment in life.
The God that I was not believing or trusting in actually was not the God revealed in the Bible. I thought God was demanding but He is overwhelmingly generous.
In contrast to the god’s I was living for they were extremely demanding and exhausting. Inside me was a longing for relationship and longing for home because my Earthly relationships and Earthly home never satisfied not even the best ones.
The best gift God gave me was allowing me to discover that I was made for another world. Christ speaks of a new Heaven and a new Earth. He not only delivered me from a literal death also from the million deaths I was suffering before I actually died. The best part about it He has given me life to the fullest right now, and when I die, I will live with him in Heaven forever.
