A confident life of freedom

I'm so glad I have eternal life because I can love generously and live life with confidence and freedom.

In the past, when I read the news or current headlines about culture, the economy, terrorism, or political events, it would cause me to be fearful of the future and cling tightly to ideologies and judge and mistrust others. I felt like I did not measure up to others so I would put up relational walls and seek material ways to make myself feel complete. Once I understood that Jesus loved me so completely and fully, there was no need for me to compare myself to others or try different ways to feel complete. Knowing that He gave me the gift of eternal life, my fear of the future was replaced with security. Jesus gave me confidence and completeness that made me feel free for the first time.

The freedom that I experience in knowing that my future is secure, that I can love fully because I am loved fully, gives me the ability to live each day with hope. I look forward to the future because I know that eternal life means forever with God.
