My Story
Bad Time for a Nap
I'm glad I have a relationship with Jesus because it gives me peace knowing that he's in control of my life.
Several years ago I was driving home from a trip to the mountains. I was on a mountain road that had a steep drop off on the right hand side. Somewhere along the line I dozed off. I didn't wake up until my truck left the pavement, which didn't give me any time to react. My truck went off the side of the road, down the steep slope, and head on into a large tree. When I looked up after impact, all I could see was the hood of my truck folded up in front of the windshield. The person driving behind me called for help. It took more than two hours for the rescue worker to get me out of the truck because of the way it was penned in between several large trees. Although that probably should have been a traumatic experience, I was at peace through the whole ordeal because I knew that God was in control.
I came away from that accident that totaled my truck without a scratch, but I know that if that had been my time, I would have gone to heaven. And that same peace I had that day, I still have today. I know that God has a plan and a purpose for me, and when it's my time to go, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I will be with God in heaven.
