God's love has captured me

Before I had a strong relationship with Jesus, I thought that the most important thing was impressing the people around me and being accepted by them.

I changed who I was around different groups of people. To my parents, I was a good kid. In church, I was an angel. With my non-Christian friends, I could swear and fight just as much as they could. In school, I was a straight-A student. Whatever people expected of me, that is who I was because I wanted people accept me.

Then I began to understand that life was not all about me. God began to teach me that life was all about him.

After that, I realized that I was focused on myself, not on God and other people.

One spring break, I went on a mission trip with a local church. We helped people rebuild their homes that were falling apart. God used that trip to show me some profound truths. I was able to see that life is not all about me. Instead, life is about God and others. I was able to see that there is a lot of hurt and pain in the world that only Jesus can heal.

Jesus will heal all the hurt and the pain in the world, and I know that if I were to die right now, I would be with him in heaven.
