My Story
They Weren't Telling / I Wasn't Listening
Before I had a relationship with Jesus, I had never thought about heaven or eternal life.
I was a leader in high school... president of the student body, drum major, etc. and life seemed pretty good.
Then I went to college and was asked if I knew for sure if I was going to heaven. I knew that I didn't know. Someone then shared with me how I could know for sure.
Even though I didn't understand everything about that conversation, I did know from that moment on why I would be in heaven when I died some day. That was a peace of mind that I had never known before.
I recall one time going on a business trip that was going to involve air travel after 9/11. I had said good bye to the family, and reflected upon what would happen if the plane I was on did not arrive safely at its destination. I was at peace that I knew what would happen to me. I also wondered how many people on the plane did not know what would happen to them.
I know that if I were to die right now, I would be certain that I would be with God in heaven.
