I’m glad I know I have eternal life because I have peace and happiness in my life despite a time of great uncertainty and heartache. Without it I don’t know how I would have faced losing my sister to cancer.
However, I remember the day I received the terrible news that she had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. I was devastated, my heart felt as if it wouldn’t stop hurting. I wept a lot. And yet throughout that whole ordeal of great personal sorrow, God gave me a real sense of inner peace. And that peace is still with me today. You see, I knew that even in death I would not lose her forever. For my sister, just like me, had received eternal life.
