Before I came to know Christ, I thought that I had to do well in academics and then go on to work. This was all there was? And it seemed rather unfulfilling.
I was on a Study Floor in a University. The pressure was so intense that some students were comitting suicide on the campus. Everyone was anxious and the anxiety was contagious. We actually had a state of emergency regarding the mental health of the students, but it was not publicized until a later semester.
I attended a Bible study and learned that it was important to give your life to Jesus and to let Him be Lord (to direct) your life. He would guide it in the way that suited Him and in a way that was best for me. This was a lot more fulfilling than a life of dry academics and the stress of achieving or making the grade. Just think, to be led by God Himself.
Life has so many facets. Jesus has taken me through many things and given me abundant life; a rich and diverse life.
Even having gone through a bout of breast cancer, I know that whether I live or die, I will be with Jesus who is God. He has promised, "That I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6
I know that the Lord has promised me that one day I will be with Him in eternity, free of all earthly doubts and troubles.
