"Spending Eternity With Our Father and Loved Ones"

As a child I was very close to my grandma and grandpa. I couldn't wait for the weekend to get here so that I could go and spend the night with them! Of course they spoiled me just a little! I did this almost every weekend for at least 16 years! I can remember one particular weekend when I was at their house, my dad came over to talk to them at their request. At this time I was 12 years old. I heard my grandparents and my dad discussing my grandparents wishes for their last will and testament. They wanted my dad to be the executor of their estate. I was devastated! They were not supposed to die! That is when I realized that I wanted to know what would happen when we die. My grandma was the one who took me to church on Sundays and I knew that she was a Christian. One Sunday evening though my dad and I went to church and I remember just like it was yesterday that the preachers sermon that night was on dying and spending eternity with God and our loved ones who have passed on before us if they knew Jesus as their savior. God

started speaking to my heart that I needed Him in my life if I too wanted eternal life. I almost ran down that church aisle to accept Jesus!

As I mentioned, I was 12 when I accepted Christ. This does not mean that I was a model Christian. Quite the opposite! I had as a teenager a very rebellious side! So much sin in such a short period of time! It was the typical 1970's teenage mischief. I know God had to be looking after me for me to be here today.I was married at age 18 right after graduation from high school. Five years later we had our first son. Three years after that we had our second son. Life was good. We had everything except God. Then the problems surfaced with alcohol and infidelity. Instead of turning to God, we listened to our own thoughts and ended the marriage after 17 years with divorce.

After several years of single parenting I began to know that something was missing in my life. It was God. When I turned back to God, He has blessed me with a wonderful husband, the knowledge that both of my sons have accepted Jesus as their Lord,a beautiful grandson and countless other blessings!

One positive impact that God has made in my life is the joy in knowing that one day I will be in Heaven with my Lord!

The moment I asked Jesus into my heart I knew that my place in Heaven was secure!

What a peaceful feeling that came over me as I went down that church aisle to accept the Lord Jesus as my personal savior!
