Music with a message
Before I had a relationship with God, I struggled with a lack of peace. My life seem unsettled in many areas.
From my background, I knew about many aspects of the full life that God offers. But they seemed like pieces of a puzzle. I didn’t know how they fit together to make a difference in my life. At that time, I lived a life that ignored God in many of my attitudes and actions. I tried to fill my life with good times and parties, but it didn't seem to work for me. I knew something was wrong, but didn't know what it was.
During some rough times, my sister loaned me some recordings of some contemporary Christian music artists. I liked the music and listened very closely to lyrics describing God's overwhelming love for me. It wasn't too long before I received the full life that God was offering me.
One thing in my life that changed right away was a deep sense of peace. I knew I was under God's care no matter what happened.
A few years later, my employer decided to downsize the workforce. We were told to submit a resume for our own jobs and we would be told who would stay and who would be leaving the company. As I observed my co-workers stress out and deal with the stress by drinking after work. Before I had eternal life, news like this would have me stressing and drinking too! But in the middle of all of this anxiety, I had a peace in my core that I can only attribute to the relationship I had with God.
The greatest benefit of this full life that starts in the here and now and lasts forever is, I know for sure if I died today, I'd be with God in heaven. I wouldn’t trade that for anything!
