Life to the Full

Before I received eternal life my life was empty.

While I had family and friends all around me something was missing. I worked hard to achieve my goals in life thinking that would fill the void. Yet even after becoming a physician, establishing a medical practice, and having a family and nice home my life was still empty. It got to the point that I was seriously contemplating ending my life. I believed in God but He just didn't seem to be there. I knew though that if I ended my life that would not be pleasing to Him.

Then one day someone shared with me about God's love for me. That day I received the gift of eternal life.

Since that day, my life has been far from perfect. But because of God's faithfulness it has been full rather than empty!

One of the hardest times in my life was when our second child died 3 months into the pregnancy. Just a few months before, we had moved over 600 miles away from all our family and friends. While we were separated from them in during this painful time in our lives, God was right there with us. His presence was almost palpable. He even helped me to look beyond myself and share with a dying man how he could receive eternal life like I have.

No, my life has not been perfect. But God is faithful, and because He is, I know that the full life He has given me now will last forever. I know for certain that I'll be with God in Heaven.
